New York City video production company
Click Play Films is a New York City video production company producing corporate, commercial, and brand video to a broadcast standard. Network and streaming credits, full-service local crews, and a producer on every project.
Broadcast-grade video production in New York City
Brand polish. Broadcast scale. One accountable team.
Click Play Films brings a national production standard to New York. We started as a storytelling agency and grew into feature work, national ad campaigns, and unscripted television, and we bring that same rigour to every corporate film, commercial, and brand video we shoot in this market. From concept and creative direction through full-service post, your project is handled by one producer accountable from the first call to final delivery.
New York is the most competitive production market in the country and also the most expensive place to get logistics wrong. A shoot day lost to a building that would not release a certificate of insurance, or a truck with nowhere legal to park, costs the same as a shoot day that produced something. Most of what we do here that other companies do not is decided a week before anyone picks up a camera.

New York City video production services
What the city actually requires
New York rewards preparation more than any market in the country. Almost everything that goes wrong on a shoot here was solvable a week earlier, and almost none of it is about the filming.
Permits and MOME
Filming on city property, streets, or sidewalks runs through the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, with requirements varying by crew size, equipment, and whether you need parking or pedestrian control. We handle the application and build the lead time in.
Certificates of Insurance
Almost every commercial building in Manhattan requires a COI naming the landlord and management company before a crew enters, and issuing one takes days rather than hours. It is the single most common reason a New York shoot slips, and it is entirely avoidable.
Parking Is the Real Constraint
Where the truck goes determines how the day runs. Load-in distance, holding, and equipment security are all planned in advance here rather than solved on the morning, because there is no solving them on the morning.
Sound Is Never Free
Traffic, sirens, construction, and HVAC are constant. Interiors need treatment and exteriors need a plan for the noise floor, which is why we record with backup and mic for the room rather than assuming a quiet take is coming.
Local Crew, No Travel
New York crews booked locally. Travel, per diem, and freight stay off the budget, and you get people who know which buildings need a week’s notice and which blocks are impossible after four.
Multi-Market Campaigns
Offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and Houston, with coverage in 48 markets. A campaign shooting in several cities is one team rather than several vendors.
What video production costs in New York City
Most production companies will not put numbers on a page. Here are ours.
Cost is driven by crew size, shoot days, locations, and how much post the project needs. These are the ranges most New York projects fall into. Broadcast commercial production sits higher and is quoted separately.
$3,000 to $10,000
Single video. One location, one shoot day, a compact local crew. Executive messages, customer stories, single explainers. Includes production, edit, color, sound, captions, and versioning.
$5,000 to $20,000
Brand film or multi-location project. Several locations or shoot days, larger crew, motion graphics, licensed music, and more involved post.
$10,000 and up
Campaign or series. Multiple deliverables produced together, which lowers cost per video substantially. Broadcast commercial work quoted separately.
A production partner, not just a camera crew
Most New York video shops have never made television. We have. That means tighter planning, better direction, and content built to perform whether it runs on national broadcast, a trade-show screen, or a social feed. You get a dedicated producer, transparent budgets, and a team that treats your project like it has to perform, because it does.
New York video production questions
How much does video production cost in New York City?
A single video typically runs $3,000 to $10,000. A brand film or multi-location project runs $5,000 to $20,000. Campaigns and series start around $10,000 and drop in cost per video as volume rises. Broadcast commercial production is quoted separately and starts higher.
Do we need a permit to film in New York?
For most public locations, yes, through the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Requirements depend on crew size, equipment, and whether you need parking or pedestrian control, and some handheld work with a small crew is exempt. We handle the application and factor the lead time into the schedule. Private property and building interiors need the owner’s permission rather than a city permit.
What is a certificate of insurance and why does it keep coming up?
Almost every commercial building in Manhattan requires a COI naming the landlord and management company before a production crew is allowed in. Issuing one takes days, and every building wants slightly different wording. It is the most common reason a New York shoot gets pushed, and the fix is simply asking your building for their requirements a week early rather than the day before.
How many locations can we shoot in a day?
Two is comfortable, three is ambitious. A company move in Manhattan means loading out, getting a truck across town, finding somewhere legal to park, and loading back in, which is an hour or more even when the locations are close. We schedule geographically and are honest at the quoting stage about what fits.
How do you handle street noise?
By planning for it. Traffic, sirens, and construction are constant, so we record with backup, treat interiors where needed, and choose shooting windows around the worst of it. Anyone who promises silence on a New York exterior is telling you what you want to hear.
How long does a project take?
Two to four weeks from kickoff to final delivery for a standard project. Two to eight weeks for larger films, series, and campaigns. Broadcast commercials run four to eight weeks. If you have a fixed date, we build the schedule backwards from it.
Can you handle multi-city campaigns?
Yes, and it is one of the clearer reasons to use us. With offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and Houston, a campaign shooting in several cities is one production team with consistent direction rather than several local vendors delivering films that do not match.
Do you work with agencies or direct clients?
Both, roughly evenly. Agencies bring us in as the production partner on work they have already sold. Brands without an agency use us from creative through delivery. We are comfortable executing someone else’s boards and equally comfortable developing the concept ourselves.
What is included in the price?
Pre-production planning, scripting support, crew and equipment, direction, all quoted shoot days, editing, color grading, sound mix, licensed music, captions, and delivery in every format you need. Permits, paid talent, stage rental, and specialist equipment are quoted separately and itemized up front.
Who owns the footage?
You do. You receive the finished deliverables and, on request, the camera originals. We archive projects so future work can reuse existing material rather than reshooting it.
